Tameer celebrates handover of Madinat Al Majd apartments in Al Zarqa, Jordan

Leading developer welcomes first residents to its integrated residential city in Jordan

Leading UAE-based regional developer, Tameer, recently held a small handover ceremony to officially welcome the first residents of its Madinat Al Majd project in Al Zarqa governorate in Jordan. This comes shortly after Tameer’s announcement that Phase One of the mega-project had been completed, and was ready for use by end-users.

The handover ceremony was attended by Tameer staff and VIPs, including a number of senior officials from Jordan’s Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC), Al Zarqa Municipal Engineering Department and the Jordan Engineers Association, as well as representatives from SIGMA, Amman Consulting Engineers, and Al Shamikha Construction Contracting.

In his opening speech, Eng. Mohammed Hato, Managing Director of Tameer International in Jordan, emphasized Tameer’s pride in partnering with the public sector, represented by the HUDC, and of the credibility that Tameer maintains in dealing with the requirements of each project phase, including the handover phase. He extended thanks and appreciation to all those who supported the works on the project, which commenced with groundbreaking under Royal patronage.

“This is an important occasion for Tameer, and we are pleased and proud to officially welcome the first residents to our Madinat Al Majd project. This reflects our commitment to our promises and represents another milestone for Tameer, and we are sure that you will all enjoy the community that we are building here.”

After the welcome address, the buyers were presented with the keys to their units, along with small welcome gifts from Tameer.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Khaldoun Ajlouni – one of the clients present at the handover – expressed his delight at receiving the apartment, extending his thanks and appreciation to Tameer, and describing the handover day as a reward for clients for placing their trust in the leading developer, which contributed to building the community that serves low- and middle-income groups, alike. He also praised the strategic location of the project, close to all public services and governmental centres.

Madinat Al Majd is a unique integrated residential city located in the New Zarqa area, just 15 kilometres from the centre of Amman, and close to all public services and governmental centres, as well as the Hashemite University and Zarqa Private University. Spread over an area of two million square meters, the landmark project will include a number of residential units, in addition to an array of planned amenities, and once completed will be home to approximately 50,000 people.

Tameer will be showcasing Madinat Al Majd, together with several other projects, at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, taking place from 19 to 22 April 2009 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Residential units for the project, as well as residential and commercial plots of land, will be on offer at special rates starting from AED 100,000.
